Copyright / Terms and Conditions

Iowa AEAs provide the resources available at Iowa AEA Online for all Iowa accredited K-12 schools. The licenses to these products have specific guidelines as to how they can be used and what can be copied. The licenses are for Iowa K-12 students and teachers only. Sharing the user IDs and/or passwords with unauthorized users may result in the district, school or AEA losing access privileges.

Please review specific terms and conditions for using each resource by hovering over the "Copyright Terms & Conditions" button to the left and selecting the resource from the pop-up menu.

Student Copyright Guidelines

Students should be aware of their rights and responsibilities as users of copyrighted materials. The student copyright guidelines in the document “BriefNOTES: Copyright for Students” is meant to help students make good choices when using copyrighted material in multimedia projects, research papers, presentations, etc. This is a summary of the U.S. copyright law (Title 17) and copyright guidelines. This handout does not constitute legal opinion. It is intended to be a general discussion and not a definitive analysis of copyright.

Brief Notes: Copyright for Students clearly explains copyright law and the importance of ethically using information resources.
